MOTHER AND FATHER - Tour Diary Part Two

Well we packed up our shit yet again to slug it out all the way to Slug Guts territory. Upon arrival we were eventually greeted by Brie from the heavy awsome-o band LOOMER!

Finally catching up to everything we partied our way through the weekend... Alex from 4ZZZ kept everything sweet with his nipples... then it was over to the Step Inn, playing to a cramped but very cool little room with a swimming pool-esque bar... Alex's band GEESE were incredible! seriously check them out! FEATHERS were fucking great... little melodies and hooks you wouldnt expect... and BUTCHER BIRDS... you just cant go wrong with these guys...

The partying continued back at JD's house... I finally got to meet all of the Slug Guts who I'm such a little girly fan for... All went on into the night and it was repeated a second time, just with a bill change... PER PURPOSE were unpredictabily catchy... no pedals... no bullshit.... and it was LOOMER who rocked the set... footage from all three sets can be seen here...

I'd like to thank Matt from Kitchens Floor for taking the footage... on another note... I purchased the Kitchens Floor 7" whilst in town... if you havent got it, do yourself a favour!

We then scurried home away from the heat and back to the cold. Andy got strip searched at the airport and I got strip searched on the plane... one was less proffesional. As usual Brisbane provided a fucking great time... paradise. Cant wait to come back!

MOTHER AND FATHER - FARWELL SHOW

Even though were not going for long, Mother and Father will be playing their last show at the Old Bar in Melbourne on the 27th May before heading overseas to America. Its gonna be a real party vibe so come along and get involved...

Got some really killer bands on board to... the wonderful Poor People, the ferocious Killing Birds from Canberra and the dirtiest band in Melbourne... Bleach!

MOTHER AND FATHER - Tour Diary Part One

Well here are a couple of 'sporty' pics taken from our recent expedition from Canberra! The previous nights we had played to an empty room in Newcastle... But the shows gathered momentum in Sydney and spilled over into Canberra!

Parading and Bed Wettin Bad Boys made for a killer show at World Bar on the Friday and everyone got juiced up on the "tea pots". Then ?? put on an amazing show for us at The Supper Club and we had Whores and Betty Airs on the bill along side the Parading lads... But the night was hijacked by the totally awesome Street Chant... and we got a cover of school dedicated to us... well.. apparently

But Phoenix bar at Canberra... Yikes. What a hell of a good time... Again, Parading playing an amazing set, the locals Killing Birds where great... two piece full blown distortion at its best! The Straight Arrows then left everyone speechless and dancing!!!

then it was party! and party is RIGHT!!!

MOTHER AND FATHER / SYN FM Showcase Night

We would like to thank everyone at SYN Radio 90.7 FM for having us as the artist of the month for January. A Showcase gig was held at the Evelyn Hotel on Thursday night (28th Jan) with The Messengers, The Alcorettes and The Frowning Clouds.

Thanks for coming and watching us play, we hoped you liked the debut of our new song "Lethargic" which we are thinking of putting to 7" real soon.

MOTHER & FATHER / Cabin Fever

As of January Mother & Father has moved away from the so called 'epicenter' of music to a small secluded beach island called Phillip. We have already dubbed it Cercie Island although there is no sign of Hermes Endarcus anyway.

We are in the process of writing and rehearsing material for our second album that is scheduled to be recorded in America later this year with producer Jack Endino. Some current album titles we are throwing around are "No One Like You Likes You", "In Vivo / Ex Vivo" or "Junk Milk"... your thoughts are appreciated...

We will also be throwing parties and blue light discos, so if you want to come and visit us, you are more than welcome. "Peace be with you and keep watching the skees... skies"

Coming to a Kindergarton near you! Were excited to announce that Mother & Father we will be doing a string of shows from Melbourne through Canberra, Sydney, Newcastle and Brisbane in March / April with our good friends Parading.
